UN ECE R.141 has also established TPMS in trailers. However, the data generated by this system can do more than simply warn of incorrect tyre pressure.
When combined with telematics, this information can also be utilised for fleet management. This gives the fleet operator a digital overview of their trailers and enables them to incorporate the data into their maintenance and service processes.
Vehicle manufacturers benefit too: real data from in-service operation provides insights into how the vehicle is used and can thus form a valuable basis for further product development and new services.
