For all new registrations of O3 and O4 vehicles, the installation of a tyre pressure monitoring system as original equipment by the vehicle manufacturer will be mandatory from 6 July 2024 on the basis of the EU regulation UN ECE R 141.
UN ECE R 141 prescribes, among other things:
If a tyre pressure loss of 20% or a malfunction occurs, the driver must receive a warning in the cab within 10 minutes.
It is permissible to use both a TPMS - Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and a TPRS - Tyre Pressure Refill System. The remote data transmission is not mandatory - however, it has a huge potential for process optimisation - because the data is there!
We at idem telematics offer an EBS manufacturer-independent solution, which optionally brings additional telematics benefits for vehicle manufacturers and fleet management.
